True

“Damn bitch, two bottles of wine are gone? What the hell do you have going on? You haven’t really talked to me much lately. What’s up with you boo!” My friend Mo asked. She plopped down on the couch beside me as I laid there still in pajamas at two o’clock in the afternoon.

She has been asking to come over and talk to get me out of this slump that I have been in the past few weeks. But every time I try to find a way to avoid it, because I just don’t feel like talking to anybody. I haven’t even talked to my sister. I already know what she’s going to say, and I don’t feel like hearing her mouth. I don’t feel like hearing anybody say I told you so. I haven’t gotten much sleep and I haven’t really eaten or been interested in the usual life things that I have been used to doing.

I have never felt this type of depression before. I mean, don’t get me wrong I been through break ups and shit with guys, but this one was something different. This is the type of depression you feel when you are in love, but heartbroken. I thought I could handle it at first, and I shrugged it off laughing. But as each passing day went by I realized how bad I missed this man. I realized how much of an influence he had on my life. He has helped me out in so many ways I can’t even count them all. Not even just financially but mentally. I just stared at my friend with my hand on my head as she asked me mad questions.

“Not much I’ve just been chilling.” I answered. She looked at me sideways.

“You just been chilling? Bitch you are lying! You know I’m your best friend I can tell when something’s up with you. You have been giving me these dry ass answers through text messages for the past couple of weeks now. Just been telling me that you have a lot on your mind. You don’t answer any of my phone calls hardly. You don’t even post on social media what’s going on?” she probed. I sigh before drinking the last gulp of my wine.

“Me and Devin broke up or whatever you want to call it.”

“Whattt? For real what happened?”

“I don’t know, long story short him and his wife got into it because she found out about me apparently. She basically gave him an ultimatum to choose his family or me. And of course, guess which one he chose? For the past few weeks, I haven’t heard shit from him. I told myself I wouldn’t get my feeling so wrapped up in him, but apparently I did. I think he even blocked me. This shit hurts like hell.”

“Noo, so he had to cut you off! Damn that’s messed up friend. I am so sorry you going through this.”

“Yeah, and to make it all worse, now I have to get my life all the way back right.
